Someone in the AWS group at Amazon should submit a presentation or several presentations about EC2/S3 being used for SAP adn about security in EC2 and S3. I am including the invitation I received from ASUG and hope you will respond. This meeting will have about 12-15,000 attendees from a variety of companies using SAP.
New Process: Call for Presentations Share Your Interest Today ASUG is pleased to announce that the Call for Presentations process for the 2011 ASUG Annual Conference has been improved to include a formal track structure for the event that will allow attendees to better navigate the hundreds of hours of content on site. To help us ensure that this track structure is truly representative of the educational interests of our community, we are launching this year’s Call for Presentations in two phases: • The first phase begins today, with an invitation to members to share your interest in presenting in one or more of the conference tracks. • The second phase begins December 1, when we will be collecting your completed abstracts for consideration. We ask that all potential speakers complete both steps, while keeping in mind that this new process will allow you ample time to reflect on the experiences you wish to share and prepare your abstracts for submission.
Presenting at the ASUG Annual Conference not only helps others connect the dots, but it also brings visibility to your company and demonstrates your thought leadership. Please give thought to presentation subject material such as strategies for leveraging existing SAP solutions to increase ROI, upgrade experiences, development of leading practices, successful reporting and information delivery options, effective integrations with various aspects of the SAP landscape, as well as other topics that will help customers better leverage their investment in SAP technologies. MSG got cut off due to limits.

Greetings AWS Evangelists,
My firm, Witherspoon Marketing Group, Inc. wants to host an Amazon Evangelist meeting here in Chicago sometime in June of this year. We already know a few firms that are either using or who are in the process of designing service (SoS) applications using the EC2 platform. Our own efforts target verticals in automotive entertainment, retailing and advertising.
A tentative agenda has already been put together and the event would be held either on the University of Illinois (Chicago) campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology here in the city. We are hoping to touch base with someone at Amazon. In May, we will be making a presentation at the end of May (5/29/2009) on the topic of Sybase iAnywhere as part of the Amazon Cloud (EC2) and the EC2 Ubuntu distro. We want to use this first meeting to bring together as many local users and developers now working on the Amazon EC2 Cloud and have this meeting set the stage for the meeting in June.
This first meeting would also be an opportunity for Amazon's team to present the EC2 platform and to promote their cloud computing services architecture.
In a few weeks, I will post a link to a event web page that will provide further details and an agenda. Certainly open to further suggestions from the local area EC2 users and the Amazon team.
Looking forward to hearing from the Amazon EC2 team,
Prince Riley Director, Development

Hello Mike, Weblookon just opened its doors this week, and I just wanted to get in contact with you for your opinion about our authentication service. Just visit us at www.weblookon.com . We hardly tried to get everything operating well out of the Swiss mountains, where our core application server is housed. The method of WebLookOn is based on a strong patented algorithm and on a steganographical method of transmitting secret messages without showing in any way. We offer Weblookon as a service for our customers that need stronger authentication than passwords give. No soft- nor hardware needs to be installed, neither by a user nor by our customers. The strengh and security of the method was tested by several international capacities. Typical customers for us are Online shopping portals, betting plattforms, auctions but also value transaction providers and banks.... Would be nice having any answer, recommendation or what so ever on WebLookOn. Just try it - make your personal key. In the near future we will have full single Sign-On functionality for every user within our customer directory. Our main goal would be to contribute to a safer internet by just replacing the old password logins.......Please do not hesitat to contact us heinrich.mautner(at)weblookon.com

If my German is not good enough, I encourage everyone to simply google Weblookon or Seclookon, filter out all press releases from the vendor and see what is left.
> Oh yes, the pictures are the problem for Amazon, Youtube, Facebook, Windows and so on.
You are comparing apples and oranges. Of course there is content in the world that is not available for people with disabilities. But Weblookon is not excluding people from content they could never use, it excludes them from the login to written content they could use. The login of none of the pages you named depends on pictures.
>> less secure (because of the needed clear-text storage of secrets) > I read that nonsense (...). That shows you've no clue how it works.
Then explain it to me. How on earth can your system compile the pictures and check the results without knowing the secret?
> > and less available (DoS) than other knowledge-based systems. > And that's nonsense too.
From what I remember your system has to compile the pictures (based on the key), keep a channel during the complete process and remember the numbers wanted/used. That sound's like a lot more effort then checking a password.
> Oh in fact? I need the secret Key-ID, the pictures, the symbols, the relation between pictures and the input character, all the information (input AND output) and more than one login.
Modern malware, screengrabbers and keyloggers are no rocket science. If your system gets some attention, someone will soon evaluate, how many logins you have to observe to derive the key.
>> Oh, and I'm very sorry, but the system has got no steganography in it. > Oh, you should better understanding things before you post something.
OK, where do you HIDE a message? The involvement of pictures doesn't turn a system into steganography.

Hello AWS Evangelists,
My company, Isos Technology, hosts the IBM WebSphere Users Group (PHXWUG) here in Phoenix and we were hoping to touch base with someone at Amazon. Our next presentation at the end of April (4/29/2009) will cover using IBM middleware in the Amazon Cloud (EC2). I hoped to provide Amazon the opportunity to present in tandem and as a way to further promote cloud computing.
Presentation Brief: Since 2006, Amazon has made their scalable, reliable and cost-effective cloud web services available to customers for running their IT infrastructure. Consequently, a number of companies have made their software available to use through the Amazon cloud including IBM. Learn about Amazon Web Services (AWS) and how you can take advantage of using their global computing infrastructure to run your IBM services. Don't get left behind--find out what all the buzz is about.
During this presentation you will learn about Amazon's Web Services featuring the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). You will also find out what IBM software is available for use and see a demonstration of how to setup a WebSphere Portal instance using these services. -----
If you know of anyone in your group who might be interested in this opportunity I would appreciate the chance to present the idea to them.
Thank you for your time,
Danny Riley Vice President of Services

A visit to to the eact coast of Australia would be ideal. The hype around cloud computing is building to high-levels and we'd like to be able to sort out reality from nonsense and in particular take a look at what we can and can't do using AWS versus our internal Windows environments. Come on down!!
